Although we always recommend your team use a "server-level" email connection if possible, Charlie can ingest your email using IMAP where necessary. If you're a Gmail user, here's what you need to know about connecting your Gamil account using IMAP.
Enabling IMAP Access
For starters, you'll need to ensure that IMAP access is enabled on your Gmail account. If you have access to your Google Admin console, you can enable it like this:
Scroll to POP and IMAP access.
To enable IMAP access, check the Enable IMAP access for all users box.
Save your changes
Generating an App Password
Rather than sharing your password with Charlie, we recommend that your team members always use an "App Password". In this way you can give Charlie access to your email without sharing your password, and you can remove Charlie's access to your email account should you ever need to directly from your Google account.
*Note: If you use 2-Step-Verification to log into your Gmail account, you will not be able to log into IMAP using your regular password, and must use an App Password
To generate an App Password, follow these instructions.
Once you have generated an App Password, you can use that password and your email address as your IMAP when linking your account in Charlie.
